Our Programs
By the time a child is three to four years old they will have explored, experimented and become very familiar with their corner of the world. They probably feel secure and confident with the people and places they now know through their toddler years. Now they are ready to strike out and become a 'person among people'. Kindergartens provide the perfect place for your child to make new friends (children and adults), meet with new experiences and try out new ideas. Yandell Kindergarten provides a play-based, child-centred program.
Based on our knowledge and understanding of child development, we are aware that up to seven years of age, children's learning evolves from what they experience directly - what they see, touch, feel, hear or smell. With this in mind Yandell offers a program which allows children time to explore and discover, to pursue interests in their own time and framework, and freedom to create their own play situations.
We are concerned with the development of the child learning to make decisions for themself in a friendly, relaxed environment where materials are presented in an open-minded manner, enabling children of varying developmental levels to interact at their level of knowing. Kindergarten is a beautiful experience for children to enjoy and benefit from and is a part of their total education. It must not only be seen as a preparation for school but as an entirety in itself.
At Yandell Kindergarten we offer three part day sessions per week in our 3 year old Ring-a-Rosie program as well as two full-day sessions in our 4 year old Kinder program.
