At Yandell Kindergarten, parents are warmly welcomed and encouraged to be part of the special events and celebrations that weave our community together. Each term ends with a seasonal festival, and we also honour each child with a simple and meaningful birthday celebration.
FestivalsAs each term draws to a close, we begin preparing for a seasonal festival through baking, crafting, singing, and movement. The children take part in a special Festival Circle and delight in sharing what they have created with their families during this joyful time.
We celebrate the rhythms of the year with festivals such as Autumn Harvest, Winter Spiral, Spring Festival, and Advent, each offering moments of beauty, connection, and reflection. These gatherings help children develop a sense of reverence for nature and for one another, embracing all people and the world around us with warmth and respect.
Your child will look forward to these festivals with great excitement and pride, as they take part in preparing something special to share with you.

Birthday Celebrations Each child at Yandell Kindergarten is honoured with a simple and heartfelt birthday celebration, reflecting the warmth and reverence we hold for each child’s journey.
We aim to celebrate your child’s birthday on the day itself or the next kindergarten session. Parents are warmly invited to join us for the birthday circle, which includes a special ritual dedicated to the birthday child.
In preparation, we’ll ask you to share a short sentence or memory for each year of your child’s life. These stories are woven into the celebration, creating a meaningful narrative that honours your child’s journey. A birthday cake is baked with love at the kindergarten on the morning of the celebration.
